Step out in style: Murungi

My style is simple, comfortable and elegant. I am quite shy and not into flashy clothes because I don’t like attracting people’s attention.

My style is simple, comfortable and elegant. I am quite shy and not into flashy clothes because I don’t like attracting people’s attention.

So, simplicity is my number one priority. I can only go out of my way to pull out all the stops if there is a big party coming and I have to attend it. I will still go for something that makes me comfortable. I draw style inspiration from women like Michelle Obama and Naomi Campbell.

They are both powerful women in their own right, one is simple and down-to-earth, and the other is exotic and fabulous.
If I could wear only one label, it would be Chanel. It is timeless and suits all sorts of people. My other must-haves include earrings and I am mad about shoes and jeans.

At the moment, I love wearing little casual dresses, not too tight, but with a perfect fitting, accessorised with feathered earrings.

The most expensive clothing I own is my Gap jeans that my mum bought me. I love them so much that I would just want them hanging in my wardrobe for me to just admire (laughs).

I do not usually buy my own clothes, but I still know what I like to wear. I never wear anything just because someone else looks good in it. I like my clothes to suit my body and my personality.

You should never go out of your way to impress other people because style should be a personal statement. It should be all about you and the image that you want the world to perceive of you.

Always aim to be unique and create your own style just like I do. Whether you are going for simple and elegant like me, or you would rather be edgy and dramatic — make it about you. That’s my motto.
