2 dead, 6 injured in Lyantonde bus accident

Two people died on the spots and 6 others sustained severe injuries when a bus they were travelling in had a head on collision Friday morning at Lyantonde.

The accident occurred at Konko about 1 km from Lyantonde towards Masaka  when a western bus express bus registration number UAE 898 which was heading to capital, Kampala failed to negotiate a corner due to over speeding and rammed into a Fuso lorry registration number UAP 752L.

The injured have were rushed to various health units in Lyatonde.

Lyatonde District Police Commander Jonathan Baruza attributed the accident to reckless driving.
