Banned Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) president Roger Ddungu may be down but still clutches on the 'legal straw' in a bid to regain his job.

Ddungu whose application for interim order stopping last Saturday's Extra-ordinary Assembly was rejected last week returns to High Court Civil division this Friday for hearing of the main suit.

Ddungu who filed a case challenging UOC's decision to suspend him returns to court even more aggrieved, having been banned from sports administration--citing abuse of office.

UOC vice president administration William Blick has since assumed full power of presidency after the assembly indefinitely dismissed Ddungu and also suspended assistant secretary Nicholas Oneg P'Minga.

The assembly invoked article 28:4 and 28:5 of the UOC constitution that bars any member and official from taking matters of UOC to the courts of law.

A majority vote of 13 out 19 affiliated federations voted to dismiss Ddungu.

Taekwondo that Ddungu represents did not vote because they were not represented while cycling abstained.

P'Minga will be given the opportunity to defend himself in the UOC tribunal as provided by the constitution.
