IT is now one day to Good Friday, which is one of the most important days on the Christian calendar. It is the Friday that leads to Easter. Good Friday is celebrated traditionally as the day on which Jesus was crucified. Jesus lived on the earth 33 years.

It also marks the end of Lent where Christians have spent the last 40 days fasting, praying repenting and meditating on Jesus’ suffering. On Good Friday, Jesus died on the cross in the afternoon and immediately darkness covered the earth.

He was buried in a tomb and after three days, he rose from the dead. Remember, Good Friday does not fall on the same date each year. During Easter, Christians celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection.

As we celebrate this day, we should reflect on the importance of God’s sacrifice of his only son so that our lives are changed for the better.

Why did Jesus have to die?
It is important to understand that Jesus clearly understood that his mission on earth involved giving his life as a sacrifice to save man from sin.

some people just go to church and others prepare plenty of good food, go to bars to take beers, Christians have to celebrate this day in remembrance of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

What does Jesus’ crucifixion mean to Christians?
The crucifixion means the suffering, torture and execution Jesus suffered. From this, Christians confess that Jesus Christ died for our sins. We have to go through him to get to God.

Secondly, since God sent his son to die for our sins, Jesus’ death and resurrection frees us from the sin that we are born with.

What do Christians do on Good Friday?
On this day, most Christians have special prayers to commemorate the death of Jesus. Some have the way of the cross, where they walk to different stations and say prayers connected to the events of Easter.

Therefore, it is called Good Friday because Jesus died to save man from sin.
