Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online AfDB 163-754/9 of 01 July 2009 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.
SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE (SPN):

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online AfDB 163-754/9 of 01 July 2009 and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.
2. The Government of Uganda has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of the Uganda Post-Primary Education & Training Expansion and Improvement (ADB Education IV) Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Proposed Rehabilitation and Expansion of facilities at 30 Secondary Schools and 1 BTVET Institution (under Lots 14 – 29).
3. The Ministry of Education and Sports (The Employer) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the following works i.e. Proposed Rehabilitation and Expansion of facilities at 30 Secondary Schools and 1 BTVET Institution (under Lots 14 – 29). The works have been divided into sixteen (16) Lots as follows:-
The works comprise of civil, electro-mechanical and some external works for new institutional buildings and some renovations/expansion of existing structures. Please note that each Lot constitutes a separate bid.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the address below:-

5. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of UGX150,000/= (One hundred and fifty thousand shillings only) for each Lot.
6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.
7. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00 a.m. local time (= GMT + 3) on 10th May 2012 and must be accompanied by a bid security as indicated below:-
