AT the end of the season champions Kabalagala Rangers celebrations were cut short when their competitors set out to porch their players.
The target, 2012 season top scorer Ali Sserunjogi, who was persuaded to join Braza Braza or Bwanika Bulls United before Kabalagala Rangers managed to give him 'better' promises.
He led the scorers charts with 18 goals and is expected to replicate the form when this year’s action rolls off at the Lido Beach, Entebbe today.
As top scorer of 2011 season, Sserunjogi did not only make Braza Braza look ordinary but also forced the Nakulabye based club lose their fan base.
That is exactly what Kabalagala Rangers coach Edirisa Walugembe hopes to consolidate with Sserungoji leading the assault on Sunday.
"I had to fight hard to ensure that he does not leave and especially to Bwanika or Braza-Braza because that would mean we are finished. I trust him (Sserungoji) I know we shall keep up there," Walugembe said.
The number of clubs in beach soccer league has short up to 16 from 10 last season with Nkumba University, Fisheries Training Institute, Multitech Business School (MBS) and Kabalagala Young Ranger among the new teams.
