MANY sportsmen swear by avoiding sensual contact of any kind before a big event to keep their strength for the battle ahead.
And Uganda’s medal prospect at the 2012 London Olympics, Dorcus Inzikuru is following the same script but for completely different reasons.
She has been off her marital obligations for over a year, at least according to her henpecked husband, Martin Bosco Acidri.
New Vision Online has established that the bitter altercation between the couple last weekend, which resulted into the former world steeple chase champion vandalizing their matrimonial house at Komite village, Pajulu sub-county, Arua district was a culmination of Inzikuru’s poor attitude towards Acidri.
The couple’s strained love affair became public fodder last weekend when Inzikuru allegedly mobilized goons to vandalise their house, from which they removed 20 iron sheets.
She reportedly paid an incognito visit to their country home but to her consternation, found another woman in their matrimonial home.
Acidri, currently an accountant at Adumi Health Centre IV, has lived in the house since 2008 and only received occasional visits from the mother of his four-year old daughter, Emmanuela Munguci, who is in middle class in a Kampala nursery school.
An emotional Acidri speaks about how Inzikuru’s success has come with its own perils to their marriage; how interference from her parents has reduced him to a beggar in his own marital home and how frustration in his marriage forced him to look elsewhere.
“I have come to believe in the saying that when a woman tastes success, the first person to suffer is the man in her life. I am suffering because of Dorcus’ success,” Acidri stated.
