Four people died instantly when a car collided with a train at Nateete railway crossing near Kampala. Four other passengers in the car were seriously injured and rushed to Mulago Hospital.

They included the car driver and three other passengers. The car driver was identified as Khalid Nsubuga of Nabukalu, Busiro, and two of the passengers who died were sisters. The fourth victim was an eighteen month old baby.

Reports said that the car was returning to Kampala after collecting a child’s body in Mawokota for burial in Bulemeezi when it collided with the locomotive of an engineering train travelling from Kampala towards Kasese.
