Bad black back in Court

THE trial of Bad Black aka Shanita Namuyimbwa starts Monday (February13) at the Anti- Corruption Court.
Bad Black is accused of embezzling sh11b from Daveshan Development Ltd.
 
On January 19 2012,  court presided over by Justice  Catherine Bamugemereire  rejected Bad Black's  request to delay her trial on grounds that she is seven months pregnant.
 
Bad Black last year told journalists that she was pregnant with David Green Halgh's child her accuser.
Justice Catherine Bamugemereire declined to grant the request saying in case of any complication court will consider her request.
 
Paul Lakidi, state attorney from the Directorate of Public Prosecution said seven witnesses have been lined up to give evidence against Bad Black.
 
Prosecution alleges that in September, 2010, David Green Halgh jointly formed a company with Bad Black. The company, which was registered as Daveshan Development Limited, sought to deal in land purchase and property management.
 
Green, who is a manager in Air Services in the UK, had 75% shares while Black had 25% the two opened an account in Barclays at Garden City Branch to operate the business.
 
According to prosecution Bad Black did not contribute any money towards the opening of the account.
Prosecution alleges that between September 2010 and March 2011, Green deposited $3,824,130 from UK to facilitate the business.
