Shock and grief engulfed residents of Katojo cell, Kijuguta ward in Northern Division when a prominent lawyer set himself ablaze.

Christopher Nkina, a 64-year old man burnt himself to death in his marital house in using petrol.

According to Andrew Nkina aged 36, a son of the deceased, his father asked them to sleep in the Boys quarters that night.

Nkina said their father asked him, mother Florence Nkiina, 58, and a sister Sarah to stay in the quarters.

He narrated that at around 1:00am they had a loud explosion in the main house and when they opened, it was raging fire.

He said by the time police arrived at the scene in the morning, all the household property was burnt. Two family vehicles were saved by the neighbors.
