Blick, Galabuzi win UOC elections

WILLIAM lick and Dennis Galabuzi are the new vice presidents of Uganda Olympic Committee while Godfrey Nuwagaba has assumed office of the treasurer.

Blick who is the Uganda Ruby Union chairman is the new UOC vice president in charge of administration after he beat former secretary general Gabriel Oloka (eight votes) by two votes while and Uganda Table Tennis Association president Galabuzi was unopposed.

There were 18 votes federations to vote after archery was thrown out when the delegates failed to agree on who of their three representatives should cast the ballot.

Late entran to the race Godfrey Nuwagaba (12 votes) who was acting treasurer beat Uganda Volleyball Federation president Nasiwu to the post of treasurer.

 UOC president Roger Ddungu threw out of archery which three different representatives who failed to agree on who will cast the vote. UOC invites two delegates from its member associations but only one has the voting right.

The elections were presided over by UOC auditor Cliff Katto.
Nuwagaba’s election means a position on the executive has fallen vacant position on the UOC executive committee. Ddungu said that a new person would appointed soon.
