THE incumbent netball federation –UNF president, Susan Anek Ongom is set to earn a second term in office unopposed.

Anek, the Lango college English teacher is the only candidate that paid the sh1m nomination fee and by the closing date on January 30.

The interim committee comprising of Fred Mugerwa, Annet Kisomose, Yusufu, Kamulegeya, Beatrice Mafabi, and William Bwambale has set March 10 as date for the belated elective assembly at Lugogo.

The elections meant for October 2011 were postponed after the sitting executive had failed to organise the elections and was disbanded by National Council of Sports.

Anek has served as UNF president from November 2007 - 2011 and is looking for a second term of office.

“I have projects that I would like to accomplish and also correct the wrongs we did in the past term,” Anek stated in an exclusive interview with New Vision Online.

“The game is on the rise as justified by the She Cranes. But it is not vibrant in the rural areas and that is where I will focus on in this second term,” she said.

National Council of Sports secretary in charge of technical affairs Nicholas Muramagi when contacted said that they have no objection on the nomination of one candidate.
