Okocha, Oliseh and Mboma to jet in Kampala

Africa soccer greats Patrick Mboma, Sunday Oliseh and Jay-Jay Okocha will jet in the country in May to grace the Orange U-17 tournament crowning ceremony at Kajjansi.

Africa soccer greats Patrick Mboma, Sunday Oliseh and Jay-Jay Okocha will jet in the country in May to grace the Orange U-17 tournament crowning ceremony at Kajjansi.

The inaugural tournament kicked off on Saturday at different stadiums countrywide with youngsters exhibiting unique flair and skill.

Over 10,000 targetted youth from across the country will benefit from the soccer programme.

The four-month Round Robin tournament organized by Jodana Sports Management and sponsored by Orange telecom was inaugurated by FUFA Youth soccer official Eugene ‘Ojukwu’ Katamba who hailed the tournament’s potential for feeding the national soccer team, the Uganda Cranes.  

 He praised Jodana Sports Management’s Dan Ntale for being a vanguard in revitalizing football from the grassroots, and promised same support from FUFA especially the match officials.  

"The future for our football is bright," he remarked.

The sports management home base at Kajjansi will host the central and same Buganda fixtures.
