THE National women football team -the Crested Cranes have shifted training camp from Kavumba in Wakiso to to Njeru Technical Centre ahead of their return leg against DR Congo in Kinshasa on January 28.

The squad of 25 players will train in Njeru in order to get used to the artificial turf on which they will play at the 80,000 capacity Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa.

They become the first team to camp at this multi-million FIFA funded project set to be commissioned next month.

FUFA publicist Rodgers Mulindwa said that the team is expected to leave for Congo mid next week. Uganda drew 1-1 with DR Congo in the first leg at Nakivubo stadium.

Head coach Majidah Nantanda has identified her striking line as weak link and plans to take the players through intensive drills especially in the areas of shooting.

The Crested Cranes hardly shot from outside the box in the first leg and their equaliser by Fatuma Luwedde came from a tap deep in the box.
