THE Lemon Vine, also known as Pereskia godselffiana, is a leafy thorny ever green cactus, native to the tropics.

It is a climber that can reach 30ft long. It is often used on walls with a support on which to twine its stems.

It is an excellent choice to use if you wish to keep away intruders such as animals or people jumping over the fence.

It has a slow growing habit but once established, flourishes well.
The leaves are numerous and appear red when young.

As they mature, they turn green with a yellow boundary.

Cuttings should not be left to harden off, which differs from the procedure for most cacti cuttings.

They should be placed immediately into moist soil, or sand to root.

Take note of the following if you are to have this plant:

Growth: Slow growing.
Flower: White
Scent: None
Light: Plenty of sunshine
Water: Can stand long periods of drought.
Prunning: Only if necessary.
Propagation: Stem cuttings.
