Sharon can’t understand what men want
Sharon Salmon is a singer/dancer with The Obsessions.

She is also a fiancée to Obsessions director, Ronnie Mulindwa, with whom she has a son, Sydney.

MOSES OPOBO spoke to her about love

INTERVIEW
It is difficult to believe you have a baby!

I think it is because of the youthfulness that we exude as The Obsessions. We love being young, sexy, vibrant, and most people think if you are like that, then you cannot handle the responsibility that comes with marriage and motherhood. People completely misjudge us. They think we are not into serious commitment and children

Do you have time to mother him?

Sydney is the centre of my life. I have to think of him first, no matter the situation. He is so precious to me that every time I see him, I think of working harder at my job.

Your beauty, your weight and figure never changed in spite of you mothering Sydney! What has been your formula?

I put on so much weight when I was pregnant. It was quite a lot. I was eating so much and I got back to stage in January, after just a month’s holiday. I had to create more time to work out and blend in well with my colleagues. I kept out of the media eye while pregnant.

Have men stopped pursuing you?

It has never changed! I do not really know what men want.

Everyday, I get calls from men promising to love me better than my fiancé Ronnie, and telling me I deserve better in life. Some offer cars, bungalows, millions of shillings, others tell me to break off from The Obsessions and go solo, promising to generously fund my career, because they know how much I love my career.

Some leave messages where I do my hair, while others give business cards to waitresses to forward to me.

Sometimes it is too much for me, so I relate my experiences to Ronnie and we deal with it. He is older than me, you know, and trusts me at the end of the day.
