When Maswiti Kyomugasho, 12, received news of being the top scorer in Bushenyi district, she was not surprised.

Kyomugasho, who was the head girl at Pearl Academy said she felt proud and happy because she scored aggregate 4 in the 2009 PLE results.

“Although some exams were difficult, I expected to pass because I used to consult my teachers all the time,” said Kyomugasho.

Kyomugasho’s mother, Mariam Kanyankole, said she expected her daughter to excel.

Kyarisima James, the school’s head teacher, described Kyomugasho as a hardworking girl. She scored aggregate 7 in her mock exams.

Kyomugasho, a daughter to Saidi Kanyankole, attributed her excellent performance to Allah, teachers and parents, whom she thanked for paying her school fees.

She wants to join Bweranyangi Girls’ Secondary School, where she put her first choice.

Kyomugasho said she would like to be a lawyer.

“I congratulate my fellow candidates and I also advise my sisters and brothers to read hard and always consult their teachers,” Kyomugasho advises.
