WHEN the City Beat magazine threw a Christmas party for its lucky readers last month, many said it was the best celebration the City Beat had ever accorded them. But they were wrong.

As usual, the magazine is throwing its annual All Stars Party today at the luxuriant Silk Lounge in Industrial Area, at 7:00pm.

The party that will bring the cream de la cream of artistes under one roof will certainly remain a big memory.
“The whole idea of the All Stars Party is to get the artistes and their fans in the same place, at the same time,” says City Beat editor Kalungi Kabuye.

“Usually the fans only see the artistes either on stage, in videos, hear them on radio, or read about them in City Beat. This time, it is personal and one on one. It is not a concert, by the way, or a performance, but a party.

Of course if some of the artistes feel like singing or performing, they can do so, but they are under no obligation to do so. They can just enjoy themselves like other guests.”

Over 40 of Uganda’s top musicians will be in attendance, together with a selection of other artistes in the entertainment industry, including theatre, radio and TV.

Forty lucky City Beat readers have already been shortlisted and they will get a chance to meet their favourite stars.

They will also get autographs, artistes’ memorabilia, pose for photographs with them and talk to them. Oftentimes, artistes are overwhelmed by such a response. The party will be sponsored by Club Beer.

This year, the likes of Rabadaba, GNL Zamba, Aziz Azion, Renah, Eithon, Rain and Sizza Man will join the traditional celebrities for the party for the first time. The party will go on until the wee hours of National Resistance Movement Liberation Day.
