He was regularly sent home to collect fees as his colleagues concentrated in class during the final term, but that did not stop Ronald Opio from excelling in the last year’s O’levels exams.

Opio, the best student at Seeta High School in Mukono district, scored aggregate 8 in eight subjects and 11 in 10.

“Sometimes the hard times you go through enable you to work hard for better results. That is what happened to me,” he said.

Opio wants to return to Seeta High School for his A’level.

“I want to do sciences at A’level. I want to become a doctor,” he said.

His father, George Omitta, said: “God is great and He rewards those who believe and trust in Him. When I lost my job, I thought everything had come to an end but He has stood with me and my family.”
