THE COPA Coca-Cola Cup qualifiers for Kampala region will kick off on Wednesday, an official has said.

Kampala regional schools sports organising committee secretary Ayub Khalifah, said plans for action are in the final stages but warned teams against fielding unqualified players (mercenaries).

The top teams in the region will qualify for finals to be held April 24-30 at St.Henry’s College Kitovu.

Budo secondary are Coca-cola defending champions of the annual competition that draws post primary schools.

In line with tradition, the Kampala qualifiers will have teams from the five divisions of the region –– Central, Makindye, Rubaga, Nakawa and Kawempe. The top schools including Kibuli S.S (Makindye) and Old Kampala are set for action.
