MTN Heathens’ loose head prop Arthur Mukama and Hima Impis’ Dan Obote risk suspensions after getting involved in a fracas during their teams’ encounters over the weekend. The two are already serving two-game bans each for their unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Mukama was red-carded for punching uganda telecom Kobs’ James Kimono in a tense second half of their 30-3 mauling of their rivals in the Nile Special Premier Rugby League at Kyadondo.

Impis’ Obote, who doubles as club chairman, earned a red-card in their game against Nile at Makerere. Obote is a serial offender and has always been in the bad books of referees.

“The disciplinary committee is to evaluate the match reports before summoning the two if need arises,” rugby manager Yayiro Kasasa confirmed.

Former Uganda Law Society president Moses Adriko heads the disciplinary committee. Heathens coach Peter Magona commented: “It is unfortunate but rugby is a physical game and people lose tempers.”

Kampala International University (KIU) has meanwhile, replaced Ndejje in the university league. Ndejje pulled out citing lack of funds and little time for preparations, prompting the organisers to call in KIU.

“We had kept KIU on standby so when Ndejje announced they were out we invited KIU who responded positively,” competitions committee official Kasasa confirmed.

Today Makerere University team Impis II visit Nkumba in Entebbe while KIU hosts Kyambogo. Elsewhere Uganda Christian University travel to play Busoga University and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) takes on Nkozi Martyrs.

Meanwhile, in the Coca Cola schools league, St. Mary’s College Kisubi beat Comboni College 44-6 and 18-5 in the senior and U-16 categories respectively.

Namilyango defeated Hana Mixed 23-6 in the seniors and 24-3 in the U-16s. In Lira, Lango College got a 28-0 walkover against London College.
