The church is the light of the world and whenever it does not give light, the world gets into darkness and starts complaining. However, when there is darkness, instead of the Church praying, they start to fight each other.

The church is the light of the world and whenever it does not give light, the world gets into darkness and starts complaining. However, when there is darkness, instead of the Church praying, they start to fight each other.
Psalms 11:3 says “When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?†Uganda saw the worst of the Pentecostal church last year, but it seems the architects of pastor squabbles are not yet satisfied.
A few days after Benny Hinn’s wife filed for divorce, it has become another scandal that has given the media a new story. I feel sorry and pray that God will intervene and restore the family.
I do not care what the media says, but I want us to look critically at what the Church is doing.
It was rather disheartening to see the same pastors who launched an attack on pastor Robert Kayanja now attacking pastor Benny Hinn.
I tried to surf the web to know the rationale for Hinn’s wife filing for divorce, but all the sources said she cited unresolved issues without being specific.
Jesus Christ came to bring peace in this world. Isaiah 42:1-4 teaches, “A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice on the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law.â€
Yet we are now seeing believers who are determined to use fellow believers’ woes to crush them. Instead of standing with them in prayer, they are busy going to courts and marching on streets in anger.
Let us be watchful lest Uganda gets a curse just because we cannot pray for our brothers who falter.
The church of Christ should never be in comfort. Today the devil attacks one and tomorrow the other.
The devil may hit a senior pastor with the aim of scattering the flock. As members of the body of Christ, we should unite and pray for one another. Even if a brother has fallen into sin, instead of stoning him to death in papers and courts, let us pray for him and show him that there is hope to stand again. How will the world identify us as the disciples of Jesus if we do not love one another?
As the Pentecostal Movement celebrates 50 years in Uganda, I pray this will be the time to get back to the Bible truth, knowing that the devil is fighting to destroy Christianity.
