THE Bishop of West Ankole Diocese has petitioned the Government to introduce a tax to raise funds for disasters like the recent Bududa incident.

The Rt. Rev. Yonah Mwesigwa Katoneene said Ugandans should develop strategies to address problems affecting the people after disasters instead of relying on outsiders to help.

The bishop was on Thursday handing over a consignment of relief items collected by the Christians of West Ankole Diocese to help the people of Bududa. The items were received by the Uganda Red Cross officials at Katungu Mother’s Union Centre.
