SOCCER - Jinja Army Boarding PS took the first edition of Jinja Municipal girls primary school soccer tournament after beating rivals Main Street PS in the final that at Main Street play ground last Friday. Brenda Namukasa scored the only goal in the fifth minute after she was set up by tournament top scorer Janat Namukasa.

NIC relentless in rally title bid

NETBALL - Defending champions NIC have vowed to defend their title, at the sixth edition of the national netball rally that throws off tomorrow in Kasese. The five time champions also won the event in Arua last year. St Mary’s Kitende and Bishop Kiwanuka Primary School will defend the secondary and primary schools titles respectively. The two-day rally concludes on Saturday. UPDF, Kimanya SS and Nabunga PS have also vowed to battle for the respective trophies.

Mbale, Oxford win volleyball

VOLLEYBALL - Mbale SS boys and Oxford High School girls’ teams retained their titles after wining this year’s Mbale district post primary schools volleyball championships held at Maluku playground in Mbale town. Mbale humbled Manafwa High in three straight sets while Oxford also beat Hamdan Girls High School 2-0 in the final.
