AAR underlined their ambitions to win the 2010 Corporate League soccer event with a clean sweep on the opening day at Kampala Rugby ground on Sunday.

The medical service providers, who were only praised for their smartness in the previous editions, surprised many when they collected all 12 points in four matches to top the 36 team table. They opened the rainy day with a 2-0 wins over Zain & Infocom and Deloitte before a 3-0 victory over newcomers Broadband.

They wound up with a 3-1 win over Quality Chemicals. Hotel Africana, Spedag, Roofings, uganda telecom, WBS, Housing Finance, Stanbic, Centenary, Dfcu, Orient Bank and defending overall champions Coca Cola managed three wins on the first day.

The honourables from the Parliament football team, captained by MP Odonga Otto, turned into the whipping ‘boys’, losing all their games of the day.

Otto promised to reorganize with regular training for better performance in the future outings. The league that has turned out to be a day-out for corporate staff, returns at the end of April.
