The professionals will be added to the district quota of 42 recruits and three officer cadets in the ongoing UPDF recruitment drive. The exercise was marred with forged academic qualifications presented by the youth, the head of the recruitment team, Col. Dick Olum said.

Lira to curb AIDS infections

LIRA - The district is to extend the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS programme to health centres. Dr. Ben Okao, the district HIV/AIDS focal person, said the programme will be supported by Medical Teams International, an NGO, aiming at reducing the rate of infection during and after pregancy.
