THE UPDF, killed three warriors in two different incidents while pursuing suspected Pokot and Jie cattle raiders in Moroto and Nakapiripirit districts on Easter Sunday.

They also recovered three guns and seven bullets from the warriors.

In Nakapiripirit, the army tracked down the warriors and engaged them in a fire exchange at Chemakanyi grazing area.

Two of the raiders were shot dead and two guns recovered. Five of the warriors ran away. In Moroto, one Jie warrior from Kotido district was gunned down.

The UPDF 3rd division spokesperson, Capt. Henry Obbo, on Monday said seven Pokot warriors had tried to raid cattle from Akuyam village in Amudat district before soldiers intercepted them.

He said a group of four Jie warriors had also attempted to raid animals from Lokopo sub-county in Moroto before the army apprehended them.

“The warriors tried to raid animals in these two areas but the army stopped them,” Obbo said.
