THE East African Breweries (EABL) has acquired the distribution and marketing rights for Namibian brewed beer, Windhoek Lager.
“We are very proud to be associated with Namibia Brewery. With Windhoek Lager, we are able to offer our consumers a beer which mixes the perfect combination of three natural ingredients; malted barley, hops and water,†Marion Muyobo, the EABL marketing director, said afer announcing the partnership over the weekend.
The agreement between the two breweries allows EABL to engage in the brand building activities in the entire East African region and import the product directly from Namibia.
The beer will be the only one in Uganda that is brewed under the Reinheitsgebot; a law specifically created over 500 years ago.
“Windhoek Lager is brewed using malted barley from Germany, hops grown in Bavaria and pure natural water from the Namibian highlands,†Fredy Piepmeyer, the Windhoek Lager master brewer, said.
