EDITOR—On April 11 at Bugolobi a driver of a speeding taxi knocked dead a seven-year-old child and did not stop. Smelling danger, he changed direction and drove towards Mbuya via Ismail Road but fortunately boda-boda cyclists chased and caught up with him at Plot 47 Ismail Road, immediately after the humps.

He jumped out of the taxi and over the fence nearby and fled leaving the passengers on board struggling to get out. One of the Police officers said that was the same taxi that had been involved in an accident in which nurses were killed in Busoga! I advise people who want to start the transport business to always get responsible drivers.

It is mostly reckless drivers responsible for the rampant deaths on our roads. Radjab E. Mpabuka
