The recent death of Bright Rwamirama’s son is deeply tragic.
My condolences go out to the minister and his family. President Museveni has called for an investigation into the incident and Police boss Kale Kayihura says he will lead the inquiry.
While this intervention by both officials is commendable, one can’t help wondering why hundreds of similarly tragic incidents have not received such high level attention.
Is our society one of double standards or does the death of a minister’s son somehow differ from other tragedies?
