CRANE High school had an easy go in the final of the boys schools basketball when they outclassed arch-rivals St. Michael 67-34 at St.Mary’s College, Kisubi. Usher Komugisha reports that St. Michael which had defeated defending champions, Ssaku 69-56 in the semi-final, looked to have lost their grip on the game when the scoreboard read 15-02 just after six minutes of play in the first quarter.
James Okello, who was eventually voted MVP, was Crane High’s hero.
Meanwhile, Nabisunsa went on to defend the girls’ title for a third straight trophy after they outwitted Kibuli SS 44-37.
It was Joy Chemtai again who put up a spirited fight in the last quarter to put her team in front when she scored 10 points in the last five minutes to claim the top scorer’s and MVP accolades.
Nabisunsa has won the national title a record 10 times now since the tournament was introduced in 1996.
