ADJUMANI - The chief administrative officer, Abdul Isodo, was on Wednesday found at his home in Kitintale, a Kampala suburb. The search came after the chairman, Mark Dulu, reported that Isodo had been kidnapped on the orders of the resident district commissioner, Maj. Richard Dudu.

Parish chiefs get 80 bicycles

APAC - Parish chiefs have received 81 bicycles worth sh11m under the local government management and service delivery programme. Handing over the bicycles recently, the chief administrative officer, Andrew Leru, said the facilities would help in community mobilisation.

Sub-county gets award
LAMWO - Agoro sub-county has received the Best Performance Local Government award for good service delivery. The chief administrative officer, Grandfield Omonda, said Agoro beat others after a countrywide performance assessment.

Engineer jailed over sh6m
MOYO - The acting district engineer, John Achiga Chaiga, has been jailed for causing a financial loss of sh6m to the district. Chaiga was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to refund the money. Grade One Magistrate Susan Abinyo passed the sentence.

Soldier held over murder

GULU - Pte. Robert SSenfuma, 29, attached to the 13th Battalion in Soroti, is being held for allegedly shooting to death a lunatic on Monday. He was guarding Peyero Guest House at the time of the incident.
