KABAKA Ronald Mutebi has appointed 11 committees to oversee the reconstruction of the Kasubi tombs, which were destroyed in a March-16 inferno.

The 129-year-old historic site houses the remains of Buganda kings Muteesa I, Daniel Bassamula Mwanga II, Daudi Chwa II and Sir Edward Muteesa, the father of reigning Mutebi.

The tombs are also one the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Africa

Yesterday, the Katikkiro, Eng. J.B. Walusimbi, inaugurated the restoration teams.

The leaders and their teams are Tony Kiyimba (building and technical), Eva Nagawa Mukasa (finance), while William Matovu heads the security team.

Others are Daudi Mpanga (research), W.S.K Matovu (cultural), Jolly Lutaaya (mobilisation), Charles Peter Mayiga (Information and publicity), Edward Katimbo (planning), Florence Nakiwala (tourism), Moses Kayima (Kasubi coordination), while E.L. Ssendaula, the deputy Katikkiro, is the overall coordination boss.

Price Water House Coopers, an audit firm, was appointed to manage the funds.
