CRANES will have to negotiate their Africa Nations Championship fixture against Kenya on Saturday without attacking midfielder Simeon Sserunkuuma.

The SC Villa star has been ruled out due to a recurring ankle injury.

“He is out. He can not make it before Saturday. We will have to revise our strategy,” Cranes coach Bobby Williamson stated after his side’s workout at Old Kampala yesterday.

Even without Sserunkuuma, Williamson will still be in position to assemble his best side following the recovery of Tony Odur and Owen Kasule.

“I am glad they are back with us and in good shape,” Williamson hinted.

The two attacking players were an integral part in the Cranes’ 4-0 demolition of Burundi in the first round last month. Odur claimed his first Cranes’ hat-trick.
“I am happy with the situation in camp as regards player fitness and form. All the guys are really doing well and focused for the assignment ahead,” Williamson added.

With Kasule also passed fit, the Scot will have the privilege of fielding the midfielder alongside Juma Sadam with Mude Musa seated just behind them in a three-man midfield.

At the back, Godfrey Walusimbi and skipper Simeon Masaba will occupy the full-back positions with Isaac Isinde and Edward Ssali in central defence. URA FC’s Jimmy Mukubya will support Cranes’ cause and offer cover from the bench.
