Belts have returned to the modern woman’s wardrobe, not only to hold up her skirts and trousers, but as an accessory to accentuate her outfits.

The beauty of a belt is that it defines one’s waist, giving the wearer a curvy, flattering appearance. The other advantage is that they can be worn over blouses, shirts and dresses.

You can also turn your causal black dress into a cool party outfit by just wearing a brightly colored belt that matches with the purse, shoes and jewellery.

Belts come in both big and small sizes of different types, ranging from elastics, leather, cloth, beads to plastics.

Elastic belts are at the top in fashionistas’ books because they are more comfortable than the structured ones.

However, that does not mean that if you have a chubby tummy, you have to give up on belts. Just opt for smaller belts right in the middle of your waist line for both beauty and comfort.

So be it casual, formal or elegant, feel sexy and distinguish with a belt.

But:
Make sure it is not tight.

For your belt to make a bold fashion statement, wear it with a contrasting outfit. For example, for a red blouse wear a black belt and maybe black trousers and jewellery.

Make sure the belt is not too soft so it does not fold when you sit.
