You should be out of your parents’ home by 25

Whether you like it or not, as a man, there are things, you are expected to have accomplished by a certain age.

Whether you like it or not, as a man, there are things, you are expected to have accomplished by a certain age.

Every week, TOTAL MAN will point out one of these things.

You should be out of your parent’s house by 25.

It should even be by 23 but we don’t want to be so hard on you since we don’t expect you to be independent immediately after completing university or tertiary institution at 22.

So, three years should be adequate grace period to get yourself set to live on your own.

We know some people who have actually stayed home and only left while getting into homes they have built while staying at their parents.

They stayed home because they didn’t want to waste money on rent when there was enough room at daddy’s.

So unless you are doing something serious with your money, like building a house, please get outta there quick!
Moving out of daddy’s home should ideally teach you to be more responsible financially, socially and to be more organised.

This means no profligate expenditures or leading a reckless social lifestyle (keep your virginity intact!).
