INTERFREIGHT Uganda, a multinational clearing, forwarding and freight logistics service provider, has unveiled a modern warehouse at Nakawa Industrial Area.

The $2m (about sh4b) investment has a 3,300sqm ultra storage area with a reliable stock management system, top range electronic security and surveillance systems to ensure safety of goods.

“This facility is fully equipped with ultra modern security systems, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, lightening protection and a rain water harvesting system to provide quality services to our esteemed customers.
“It’s also an addition to the already existing 12,000 square meter bonded and free warehousing space being offered to our customers.

“We are sure it will serve our storage requirements in the booming regional trade,” Heinz Muller, the group managing director, said during the opening ceremony over the weekend.

Dilip Bhandari, the in-charge of the warehouse, noted that the facility would handle specialised equipment and sensitive nature of cargo.

Peter Malinga, the Uganda Revenue commissioner for customs, lauded Interfreight for the investment and its good working relationship with clearing agents.
