VOTERS in Bushenyi have called upon the Electoral Commission to increase the number of registration centres. Boaz Katanywa, a resident, said people spend a lot of time in queues waiting to be registered.
He said because of this, residents are discouraged to take part in the exercise.
According to Francis Byompeire, the coordinator of Impact Associates, the organisation contracted by the commission to carry out the exercise in the district, the turn up was more than expected due to the campaign that has been carried out.
Byompeire said his organisation had contacted the commission over the matter. The Electoral Commission recently extended the registration exercise to June 14 following various requests from the public.
