KENYAN soldiers on Saturday pursued suspected cattle rustlers over 30km into Uganda before seeking assistance from the UPDF, Olandason Wanyama reports.

Suspected Matheniko warriors attacked herdsmen in Lokiriama, Loima district in Kenya and used stones to fight and overpower the Turkana.

The warriors made off with 25 goats and four donkeys, forcing the armed Kenyan soldiers to pursue them without the consent of either government.

The UPDF, who hosted them for a night in Moroto, recovered some of the animals. Eight suspected cattle rustlers were arrested during the operation.

The UPDF 3rd division commander, Brig. Patrick Kankiriho, cautioned them against illegal entry into Uganda.
