Africa u-17 championships August 28: Uganda v Ghana Africa soccer body CAF has released the first round
fixtures for the 2011 u-17 qualifiers with uganda set to play Ghana on august
28, reports Swalley Kenyi.

The fixtures end speculation over uganda’s position after Zambia, the team
they ejected in the preliminaries
petitioned CAF questioning player Ivan
Ntege’s legibility in the youth championship.
CAF said on their website that: “uganda
advanced from the preliminary
round 3-1 on aggregate and will host Ghana in the first leg in Kampala
on august 27-28.”
Mike mutyaba’s 66th minute goal in the Lusaka return leg was enough to
earn uganda an away draw after a 2-0 first leg win in kampala.

FUFA technical director
Asuman Lubowa confirmed
the fixtures adding that although the federation is aware CAF has dismissed
Zambia’s petition, they are yet to receive a formal communication.
“CAF asked us for evidence
of Ntege’s age which we did and we are waiting for their formal communication.
but we know they have already made a decision and included us in the
fixtures,” Lubowa said.
FUFa is due to summon the team for training. In a related, move FUFa has
summoned 32 players to start training for the u-20 Africa Championship
match against Egypt in Cairo next month.
The team will start weekend training under coach Frank ‘Video’ anyau at
kisubi technical school grounds this weekend.
