Kiruhura gets sh12b budget
KIRUHURA-The district council last week received budget estimates of sh12.5b for the 2010/2011 financial year. Education took 36.2%, production 13.4%, while health got 11%. According to the finance secretary, Lowech Mwine, the central government would contribute 92% and district local revenue 3.8%, with 4.2% coming from donor funds. Meanwhile, the council passed a resolution recognising the newly-created Kazo and Sanga town councils.

Hotels warned on sanitation
KABALE-The municipality health officials have ordered operators of public places such as hotels, schools, markets and clinics to improve sanitation. Andrew Baija, the senior health officer, said public places have until July 15 to connect to sewerage systems and install flushing systems, or risk being closed.
