AN investor is demanding over sh140m in compensation from three Pakistanis for allegedly counterfeiting his trademark.

Naim Sabra, the director of Plasto Foam Industries, claims Mohammad Jatala, Syed Merhban, and Farook Shan, directors at S&J Plastico, produced and sold sub-standard products bearing his company labels.

The trio, appearing before the Nakawa Court chief magistrate Deo Ssejjemba, denied the charges.

Merhban and Shan were former workers at Plasto Foam Industries.
Prosecution led by Jackie Kyasimire, allege that the accused committed the offences between November 2008 and June 2009.

Last week, court appointed a mediator to facilitate negotiations between the complainant and the accused persons on the actual compensation for Plasto’s loss.
