FRANKLYN Najjumba continued to shine in the Uganda Cricket Association women league. Najjumba registered 45 runs and picked two wickets as Tornado kept their 100% record in Saturday’s action.
The former Thunderbird rugby player picked two wickets for 17 runs. With support of Isabella Kabugho (5 for 29) Tornado limited Charity to 126 all out. Flavia Laker at 34 runs was outstanding with the bat.
Najjumba returned for the chase, setting a solid foundation with Concy Aweko hitting an unbeaten 43 as they passed the Charity target with seven wickets to spare.
Wanderers, who fell to Tornado last week, had little resistance against Gayaza High with Carol Namugenyi ( 5 for 8 runs) and Miriam Lumonya (3 for 8) limiting the Wakiso school to only 36 runs, which result was over hauled by Namugenyi (24*) and Patricia Turimumaharo (05*) with no loss.
Budo dominated the central region schools qualifiers for the schools cricket week.
