Was City Beat, MTN airtime just ‘kiwani’?

However, I am very disappointed because the winners always take a long time to get their airtime.

A friend of mine won airtime in May but up to now he has not received it. He is about to travel abroad.

Is this really fair? MTN and Citybeat should work on this lest the public think the airtime promise is just a kiwani.

City Beat’s response:
The winner of the City Beat letter of the Month Award, and airtime of sh100,000 from MTN, always gets his/her prize at the City Beat party with the Stars of the next month, which is usually held in the first week.

We could not hold the June party in the first week because of the World Cup, so it was pushed to the last week when there were not so many World Cup games.

Unfortunately the MTN official with the airtime was unable to attend, and we explained this to the May winner, Mr. Frank Mubiru, and told him he would get his airtime at another date.

Mubiru, however, did attend the party, and should have by the date of publishing this letter have received his prize. He has won this award before, has got his prize, and should know the procedure followed.
