IUIU admits 4,500

THE Islamic University in Uganda has admitted 4,500 students for the next academic year. Of those admitted, about 1,500 are female.

THE Islamic University in Uganda has admitted 4,500 students for the next academic year. Of those admitted, about 1,500 are female.

According to the Assistant Academic Registrar (admissions and registration), Umar Mwebesa, another list of the admitted students will be released soon.
Another 1,500 students will be admitted for the next academic year, and the list will be out in a few days from today, according to officials at the university.

The released list covers all its four campuses of Mbale, Kibuli, Arua, and Kabojja. It includes students admitted for diplomas, degrees and masters programmes.

Some of the students will be on day and evening programmes. Others have been admitted for weekend and remedial study programmes.

Faculties catered for in the first admission include that of law, science, education, and management studies.
Others will join the faculties of arts and social sciences, Islamic studies and Arabic and the Centre for Postgraduate Studies.

The Islamic University in Uganda is a multi-campus institution for advanced studies at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

The main campus is located in Mbale, about 150km northeast of Kampala.
