Uganda takes 67 to Commonwealth games
UGANDA will field its biggest ever Commonwealth Games team in New Delhi. The 91-man contingent comprises of 67 athletes from ten disciplines, 15 coaches, seven officials and two journalists.

UGANDA will field its biggest ever Commonwealth Games team in New Delhi.
The contingent of 91 people comprises of 67 athletes from ten disciplines, 15 coaches, seven officials and two journalists.
Sports state minister Charles Bakkabulindi will lead the delegation together with UOC boss Rogers Ddungu.
The Indian community in Uganda has promised to boost the team’s preparations and also send off the team in a big way. Sanjiv Patel represents the community on UOC’s preparatory committee.
“We are going to bring in corporates to boost the team,†promised Patel adding that “athletes can only perform if morale boosted.â€
He said sh150m is required to prepare the team. Kabira country club has offered to host the team’s send off.
The team will leave in two batches on September 24 and October 1. Activities in New Delhi will include a Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) general assembly.
Ddungu said Uganda plans to submit a bid to host the CGA assembly in 2012.
