THE Dokolo LC5 chairman, John Baptist Okello Okello, has criticised MPs over ignoring the shortage of drugs in health units.
He explained that Dokolo sometimes goes for two months without drugs, saying the sh110m which the Government releases annually was not adequate.
He noted that each health centre II gets sh790,000, health centre IIIs sh1.2m, while health centre IVs get sh7m after two months.
Okello was addressing the residents of Adok sub-county at the opening of a children’s ward at Adok Health Centre II constructed by Lango Forestry Company at sh24m.
Malaria accounts for 52% of patients admitted in health units in the district, according to the district health officer, Dr. Samuel Ojok.
“These are some of the issues the MPs should raise,†Okello said.
