I have persistent fallopian tube pain

I had a medical abortion this year and later developed a cyst in my womb. I went to a gynaecologist and took medication for three months then the cyst disappeared, but I kept getting pain in my left fallopian tube, plus seasonal back pain.

QDear Doctor,
I had a medical abortion this year and later developed a cyst in my womb. I went to a gynaecologist and took medication for three months then the cyst disappeared, but I kept getting pain in my left fallopian tube, plus seasonal back pain.

I got tired of swallowing the tablets I had been given because they were smelly and I feared they would harm my liver. What can I do?

A Dear Anonymous,
A cyst does not develop in the womb or uterus. Cysts are known to be ovarian. An ovarian cyst is any collection of fluid, surrounded by a very thin wall, within an ovary. Ovarian cysts, which vary in size, are usually harmless and naturally disappears with time. Some ovarian cysts cause problems like bleeding, and twisting in the cyst can cause pain.
Now that the cysts disappeared, the cause of the pain must be different.
You say that you feel pain in the left tube, but you cannot be sure that it is the tube unless you get checked by a gynaecologist.
Other things that cause pain can be infection in the fallopian tube and endometriosis (cells appear and flourish in areas outside the uterine cavity, most commonly the ovaries). These endometrial-like cells in areas outside the uterus are influenced by hormonal changes and respond similarly as do those cells found inside the uterus.
