JUDGING from the number of the available seats and the free entry, it was meant to be a small function but rather turned out to be interesting.

This was the inaugural ‘Live at the Oasis’, a gospel music session in which local gospel artistes showcase their talent and skill outside church.

This is a brain child of Isaac Rucci, formerly of the gospel music trio, Limit-X. He was also host of the show promoting positive music. Tha Band, a live backed all acts.

Though most of the artistes were new, fans of the already established Gospel musicians had something to enjoy as artistes like Exodus-Ganja Man, G-Way, Sammy-K and Daddy Skills performed. Among the upcoming artistes were the famous Jntyle and Mac Elvis.

Rucci tugged memories of the once favourites, Limit-X by sampling the group’s hit song, Malibongwe. He got the audience singing along. The G-Way crowned the show with live performances of their songs Makondere and African way.

Rucci, a music producer and veteran musician pledged to support the growth of the industry by staging monthly shows. The shows will give new artistes exposure.

My guess is that had the show got a fair share of publicity, more people would have turned up.
