“It is good I set a new personal best but my target is to finish at the medal podium in the finals,†said Kiprotich. His coach George Palanda said that the focus was for him to recover fast ahead of the final due in five days time.
MOSES Kipsiro and Benjamin Kiplagat will have to rise above their average showing at the Africa Senior championships when they compete in a star studded Wetklasse Zurich athletics event tonight.
Kispiro won silver in the 10,000 but finished fourth in 5000m, while Kiplagat finished fifth in the 3000mSC. event at the Africa Senior Athletics Championships three weeks back in Nairobi.
The duo, will however have the opportunity to redeem their image when they face with their Nairobi victors at the IAAF Samsung Diamond League in Zurich, where runners earn points to be able to share out a $1m cash prize.
Kipsiro will be competing against Africa champion Edwin while Kiplagat will again come up not only against the Kenyan quartet of Ezekiel Kemboi, and world record holder Shaheen Said Saaeed.
